Where did I last leave off?
We were traveling through Gualeguaychú, yes? More photos from there and surrounding area.
Approximate map of trip: red (complete), blue (to be completed).
Loved Gualeguaychú.
Historically, Gualeguaychú was apparently a major origin city for the export of beef products and Argentine steak to Germany and Europe.
It was shipped from these docks on the Uruguay River.
After Gualeguaychú:
Further north into Argentina, across to Brazil from Paso de los Libres, AG for the night at Uruguaiana, Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul). Best churrasco in Brazil: Churrascaria Braseiru's River.
Take that to the bank.
After crossing back into Paso de los Libres and heading north into Argentina, issues occurred.
Car troubles (turned out to be car sputtering and needing a break from high temperatures). Stopped for a bit at a place near river in San Tome, AG to wait for it to cool down and Joice filled water.
So we eventually took off from San Tome and kept driving. The car (whose name is KFC) was running again and seemed OK.
From San Tome it was five hours further north to Posadas, Argentina where we ended up staying in a hotel outside the city the first night.
The next day we drove to a countryside area about 20 minutes outside Posadas to a place called La Laurina Country Hotel.
It was amazing, and our hosts Marco and Valeria were incredibly welcoming, hospitable and professional. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a place to stay in northern Argentina!
Next? To Paraguay for a day or so…
Back to Brazil in a few days.

Ciao.
